RADIO PLAYS

I had written plays but not for radio.  Then I discovered the radio plays of the late Irwin Gonshak, a radio producer, writer and director for over 50 years. At the end of his career, Irwin was the impressario of Everything Goes, a program on WNYE-FM, 91.5, which provided a unique and innovative showcase for musicians, literati, and historians. Since the 1960s, Irwin had written radio plays with an educational bent on a range of issues, including environmental pollution, the holocaust, and protection of wildlife.

Irwin and Emon Hassan, the founder and director of the Hassberry Theater Company, collaborated to produce the New York Short Radio Play Festival, which aired in the summer of 2005.  The multi-talented Emon and his superb troupe of actors, brought my two radio plays A Brand is Born and Mind Games to life.
